Potato days in haute cuisine

From 13 to 25 October 2008, Las Patatas del Abuelo, sponsored by Junta de Castilla y León, will host the “Potato Days in the haute cuisine” at El Corte Inglés restaurants.

The menu, which will be tried during the conference, was designed by two restaurants in Castile and Leon: “WheatFrom Valladolid, run by the chef Victor Martin, and “Cooking“To Leon, in front of whose kitchen they are Yolanda Leon and Juanio Perez, which have given life to two impressive potato menus as the protagonist from start to finish and are presented either as an update to a traditional dish or as inspiration in the new kitchen.

From 13 to 18 October you can dine in the restaurants at The English court creations made by Víctor Martín, which will consist of important potatoes, fried eggs with sabrasada and potato cream, sea bass with potato skin, grated and black olives, and for dessert potato cappuccino and baili.

For their part, Cocinando chefs Yolanda Leon and Juanio Perez will take part in the final leg of this culinary event (October 19-25), for which they have designed a menu consisting of sweet cakes with rosemary-flavored potatoes, soup from potatoes and leeks with seasonal mushrooms, sea ginger with jerky, potatoes with thyme, bread mousse and tomato jam; Iberian pork stew with cake with potatoes and bacon and infusion of red fruits and snow peas, and finally sweet potatoes with cheese.

The price of the menu is 30 euros with bread service included, and the organizers recommend pairing the menus with wines from the Cillar de Silos wine cellar, from the appellation of origin Ribera del Duero.

A great gastronomic holiday that will have potatoes as the main character.

By the way, the El Corte Inglés centers in the Canary Islands will not offer these menus.
