‘Tempranillos al Mundo’ is a competition in which Spanish winemakers award wines produced with Tempranillo grapes, a competition that has aroused great international interest.
“IV edition of the Tempranillos al Mundo competition”, Held between 3 and 5 June in Paris (France), in which 412 wines from Spain, France, Portugal, Greece, Argentina, Brazil and Australia took part, with the common element being made with the“ tempranillo ”variety. Grapes originating in Spain, which have the feature of producing high quality wines.
During these two days, which continued the competition “Tempranillos al Mundo”, an international jury of 25 experts and prestigious tasters, composed the five blind tasting tables, where they tasted the various participating wines, awarding the “Grand Gold Medal in the International Wine Competition” to “Merus.4”, manufactured by Bodegas Lar de Paula, by Villar de Álava, red since 2005 in a limited edition of 9,000 bottles, made 100% with the Tempranillo variety.
At the award ceremony, 32 gold medals were awarded, 11 of which went to Ribera de Duero, 9 to Rioja; 2 for La Mancha, 3 wines from the Land of Castile, 3 Toro, 1 Australia, 2 Navarre, 1 for Valdepeñas.
This is the fourth edition organized by the Spanish Federation of Winegrowers’ Associations to the Tempranillos al mundo traveling competition, which was previously held in Copenhagen (Denmark), Cologne (Germany) and Shanghai (China).
