- 30 g of basil leaves
- 1 clove garlic
- 30 g of cedar nuts
- extra virgin olive oil
Preparing a recipe for pesto sauce:
Put the pine nuts in a pan on the fire without oil and toast them.
Place toasted pine nuts in a blender bowl. Peel and chop the garlic clove and add it. Add Basil leaves and a good amount of olive oil. Add salt and mash all while you have a homogeneous sauce.
Serve with pesto sauce.
The traditional sauce is made with parmesan, so if you want, you can add a portion to the blender glass before you grind the ingredients.
Pesto comes from Liguria (Italy) and its main ingredient is basil, to which garlic and ground cedar nuts are added, along with parmesan. Traditionally, pesto sauce is prepared by crushing the ingredients in a mortar.
