How to make homemade guacamole
Today we have the recipe for homemade guacamole. One of the recipes most famous of Mexican cuisine, which today is known almost all over the world thanks to globalization. There are Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurants all over the West, where, of course, we find guacamole served in different ways. It is often found in tacos, burritos, fajitas and all kinds of food, but you also eat spread nachos and tortilla chips. Therefore, home-made guacamole has become one of the best immersion recipes the most famous and consumed in the world.
Ingredients of homemade guacamole they are very few, only 5. Avocado, tomato, onion, lime juice and coriander. There may be versions with more ingredients and this is the most basic, but I prefer the preparation of homemade guacamole to be accessible to everyone.
The recipe for homemade guacamole dates back to Aztec times. Avocados are grown for 10,000 years and in those days a mole of avocado was made, called ahuacamolli, which is the composition of the words ahuacatl (avocado) and molli (mole or sauce). According to pre-Hispanic mythology, the Toltec god Quetzalcoatl offered the recipe for guacamole to his people and from there spread throughout Mesoamerica. In short, curiosities about the recipe, the consumption of which is increasing every year.
Ingredients for 4 people
1 – Remove the meat from the avocado
Make an incision around the avocado stone and rotate one of the pieces to separate it. To remove the bone, glue the edge of the knife with a light blow, turn and the bone will come out on its own. With a spoon, remove the meat from the avocado and put it in a bowl or mortar, which will fit all the homemade guacamole.
2 – Squeeze the lime and add the juice to the avocado
Cut the lime in half and squeeze it until all the juice is removed. Then pour it into the bowl with the avocado and mash it a little with the fruit of the mortar.
3 – Peel and slice the tomatoes
Then peel and cut the tomato into small cubes and add it to the bowl with the avocado to crush again.
4 – Add the minced onion to the homemade guacamole
Then cut the onion very finely and do the same as with the tomatoes.
5 – Add the chopped coriander and leave the homemade guacamole in the fridge
Finely chop the fresh coriander leaves and add them to the guacamole. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or the lid, if you have one, and let it rest in the fridge for at least 2 hours. This way all the flavors will combine much better.
6 – Take the guacamole out of the fridge and present it
Then we take the guacamole out of the fridge and we can use it either as a side dish or just dip it with a little nachos or tortilla chips.
7 – We’re done with the homemade guacamole sauce
