Coffee flan with cream, Irish recipe
Recipe for coffee flan
Today we have an easy dessert recipe that you will find out there and we can say that it is only for adults as it includes coffee and whiskey. This is a coffee flan with cream, which is very reminiscent of Irish coffee, as it contains all its components. The coffee flan is one of the most valued. In fact, if we remove egg custard, I would say that it is second on the list and can be found in many restaurants, both on their dessert menu and on their menus.
Making a coffee flan with cream is really easy. You can even make it even easier if you don’t make homemade caramel, but of course, in this particular coffee flan, caramel is the one that contains the whiskey, so we’ll lose that unless we add it to the flan mixture.
Another important point to keep in mind is the issue of the water bath. I explain it in the preparation section, but in case it is not quite clear, I explain it here as well to dispel any doubts. You have 2 options for preparing the water bath: The the first of themThis is before cooking the caramel (which is the first thing you need to do when making the flan). Put water in a container in which the form fits freely and turn on the oven to the temperature specified in the preparation. This way the water will warm up as we make the flan step by step. IN second option, is to boil water in a saucepan or casserole, place the form inside the vessel and then place the hot water until it reaches the middle of the form more or less. We must be careful when pouring water so that it does not fall where we do not want, which is inside the form.
Ingredients for 8 people
1 – Make caramel whiskey
We start by putting 6 tablespoons of sugar and a shot of whiskey in a saucepan. We light the fire and wait for the sugar to dissolve. Little by little he will start bubbling.
2 – Pour the caramel into the form
We wait a bit and when the caramel starts toasting, we have to determine the degree of toasting. The more toasted it is, the more bitter it will be, so I recommend not leaving it for too long. Just a light toast. At this point, pour it into the mold and move it so that it spreads throughout the bottom and part of the country.
3 – Mix the eggs and sugar
With the prepared caramel, place the eggs with the sugar in a large bowl. Beat them until they mix well, but not too fast so that not much air gets into the mixture.
4 – Add coffee and dairy products
Then add the instant coffee and stir. Then pour the cream and milk and do the same until they integrate perfectly.
5 – Pour the mixture into the mold
With the prepared mixture, pour the mixture inside the form, first in pots and then turn the bowl directly. This will reduce the impact on the candy and avoid possible accidents, as the amount of liquid is abundant.
6 – Bake the flan in a water bath
We turn on the oven at 180ºC with heating up and down WITHOUT a fan. To prepare the bath you have 2 options: turn on the oven from the beginning of the recipe with the water container or boil water with the oven on at this time, place the form in the dish and then add water until it covers half of the mold more or less. In any case, when the oven is preheated, put the form and bake a coffee flan with cream for 60 minutes.
7 – Check that the flange is ready
After this time we check if the flan is made by stabbing it with a metal rod (if possible). If it comes out clean, we can take it out of the water bath and wait for it to cool. After it cools down, put it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before ungluing it.
8 – We have already finished the coffee with cream
And that’s it, friends. We finished our coffee and cream. I hope to prepare it very soon at home and upload the final photo on Instagram, mentioning my account 55000 Recipes. So I will see that you have made one of my recipes and I will be very happy.
Nothing else for today. Tomorrow more and better here at Family Kitchen.
