Next May, the O Salnés region will host the first “Getting Close” gastronomic days. A gastronomic event whose program includes cooking seminars, demonstrations by great chefs such as Angel Leon or Pepe Sola, as well as a pincho and tapas competition.
“Approaching“The name of the first gastronomic days , to be held next May in the Galician region of O Salness, with the intention of encouraging the consumption of blue fish caught by mushroom boats. A product closely related to the mouth of the Arusa and which does not enjoy the prestige of other fish in the area.
For this reason, in the last three weeks of next May, a series of talks, seminars and culinary demonstrations were organized in virtually all municipalities in the region, Cambados, O Grove, Vilagarcia, Vilanova, Ribadumia, Meagno and La Island on Arosa.
For these demonstrations in the region will come nationally famous chefs such as Angel Leon, Pepe Sola, as well as local chefs such as Yayo Daporta, Javier Oleros and Antonio Botana.
They will all be responsible for publishing various proposals when it comes to cooking blue fish such as mackerel, sardines or horse mackerel.
The first culinary demonstration will take place on Saturday, May 10, in Plaza de Fefinans (Cambados), by chefs Pepe Sola and Angel Leon. Under the title “Approaching the waste kitchen“These chefs will give good advice and recipes to take advantage of fish that end up in the garbage or in the waters of the sea and with which chef del Mar has achieved international recognition. After this first culinary meeting, the following will take place on May 17 and 23 in Vilagarcía de Arousa and O Grove, respectively, as you can see in the following image.
In addition to these demonstrations and culinary conversations, the program of the gastronomic days “Approaching” includes a pinchos competition, which will be held in the city of Cambados during the last three weekends of May. A competition in which 13 restaurants participate with skewers for one euro, without drinks.
