This apple strudel is a recipe that we can make now and use as a Christmas dessert after freezing.

Apple strudel
Little by little Christmas is coming and that is why we will publish a series of recipes with the intention to make planning the Christmas menus a little easier and, above all, cheaper.

To start our book of Christmas recipes for 2013, we will start with a simple dessert that we may have prepared in advance, apple strudel.

The Apple strudel This is a typical jam from Central Europe, prepared and consumed from the very beginning by people with “weaker states”.

And as with all “modest” desserts, Strudel It has crossed the line, becoming one of the most famous desserts in the world because of its simplicity, its end result and why it is suitable with almost all possible ingredients you can imagine.

Instructions

  1. Put the raisins to soak in rum.

  2. Peel a squash, grate it and cut it into small pieces.

  3. Heat the butter in a pan and add the apple pieces, along with the cinnamon.

  4. Saute and include the raisins with rum.

  5. Raise the heat and let the juices evaporate for a few minutes.

  6. Remove, add the nuts and allow to cool.

  7. This time we will make the apple strudel individually, if we want to make it “collectively”, we will simply spread the previous mixture on the puff pastry and roll it as if it were a gypsy hand.

  8. We spread the puff pastry on the desktop, always observing its four sides, which we will cut into four pieces, making an inner cross with the help of a knife.

  9. Distribute the apple mixture in the center of the four.

  10. Take the four puff pastry tips with your fingers and seal by twisting the puff pastry.

  11. Place the strudel on a greased baking tray.

  12. Spread the puff pastry with a beaten egg and bake at 180º for 20 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden.

  13. Remove, leave to temper and taste together with a ball of cream or vanilla ice cream, chocolate ice cream or other accompaniment.
